RIVERSIDE MEDICAL PRACTICE

The engaged tone may be a familiar sound when we try to call our GP Practice to arrange an appointment, sadly an all too familiar sound. Riverside Medical practice has almost 20,000 registered patients, and is clearly failing to cope with the demand. It was recently reported that a patient tried over 400 times in one day to get through on the phone, without success. There are real concerns about capacity and the ability for the practice to cope with these numbers. 

RIVERSIDE MEDICAL PRACTICE – My Commitment:

This is not an isolated incident, members of my own family who are registered at this practice are continually having issues trying to navigate the telephone triage system, having to call multiple times. One of the complaints I've received is regarding the inconsistencies of seeing the same GP. Patients are often seeing a locum, and are having to repeatedly detail their medical history, which not only wastes time, but can also cause confusion.

Our current MSP has barely acknowledged there’s a problem, and has failed to intervene in any meaningful way.

I will guarantee you this. I will action this very issue on day one in Parliament and will remain pro-active until this issue is resolved and the patients are receiving the service they deserve.
